General Terms and Conditions including Risk Disclosure Statement Regarding your stay with us at Breakers Boutique Accommodation - your little bit of beachfront luxury on the West Coast of the South Island.

 

Tariff Inclusions

Daily breakfast is included with our room rate.  We have a small menu available including continential offerings and a choice of hot options.

Please advise in advance if specific dietary restrictions so we can ensure we can accommodate these.

Tarrif includes New Zealand Goods and Service Tax of 15%

4% surcharge on Visa/Mastercard 5% on Amex 

Children

Children are welcome.  Room configuration is as per description for each room under Accommodation.  Our Rooms are double occupancy or Koru can be used for twin (or triple occupancy with child under twelve years old and two people sharing same king bed) - NO three adults in room).  Cot available at no extra cost on request for Kowhai, Koru and Nikau rooms.  We have no other facilities on site for toddlers (ie highchair, baby bath etc).

Check In/Check out

Check-in from 3.30pm until 6pm, earlier by arrangement.  Guests must phone if going to be later than 6pm – 03 7627743 (limited cell coverage so phone early if leaving previous destination late).  Arrival by 6pm - this ensures guests have opportunity to make most of our beachfront location and sea views. Must phone if going to be later than 6pm so we know are safe and can advise on dining options and ensure someone is here for your arrival. Note latest checkin is 8pm - can not guarantee room availability after this time without prior notification.

We have installed a gate for both guest safety and our dog's safety.  The gate is shut until 3pm.  Earlier arrival by prior arrangement.

Check-out is 10.00am.  Guests are welcome to walk on the beach, or relax in the garden before/after this but guest room must be vacated by this time.

Hygiene

The health and wellbeing of our guests is our utmost priority. As a responsible business we are committed to keeping you safe.

We understand that, now more than ever, health and safety are at the forefront of our guests' minds. We have always had strong and strict cleaning and hygiene practices.  

We continue to maintain high levels of hygiene and monitor the requirements for the traveller.

Cancellation

Cancellation within 14 days of arrival date: 100% forfeit of total booking
Cancellation within 15-30 days of arrival date: 50% forfeit of total booking
Mother Nature causing issues with weather and roads affecting stay are not covered, therefore we highly recommend travel insurance.

Pets

Generally pets are not allowed.  We have two friendly dogs on site that are not allowed in the guest rooms.  To ensure the comfort of future guests, please don't encourage them. You are welcome to play with them outside.

If you are hoping to bring your fur baby with you, please do enquire as we will assess on a case by case situation.

Payment

Credit card details are required to secure the booking to cover any late cancellation fees should they be applicable. We have implemented Stripe payment facilities and a credit card surcharge will apply on all credit card payments of 4% (5% on Amex).  No deposit is payable.  We generally take payment the day before, day of stay or on checkout.  Domestic guests are welcome to pay by direct credit.  Bank details will be sent in booking confirmation.

Dining Options

There are no guest cooking facilities.  Rooms have a small fridge and hot drink making facilities.

Homemade pizza or West Coast Company Meat Pies & salad are available with 24 hours prior notice. Not suitable for dairy free or gluten free.  A small selection of NZ Wine and Beer is available to purchase.  Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages.  We are happy to supply crockery and cutlery for use in guest room for own nibbles etc and on request heat food in our microwave.  Due to insurance and heatlh & safety, guests are not permitted in our kitchen.

Restaurants – 10minute drive to Greymouth for cafes/restaurants. 5 minute drive to Runanga for local takeaways or to Dunollie for Dunollie Hotel, typical Kiwi country pub - great atmosphere and pub food.

No Smoking

We have a no smoking policy within all rooms of our property for the enjoyment and comfort of all our guests. There will be a charge for the sanitising of any rooms and any lost income as result of smoking, including vaping or e-cigarettes inside.  Guests are welcome to smoke outside but we ask you be mindful and respectful of other guests and access to rooms and disposal of cigarette butts.  Please don't leave any butts etc inside.

Damage and Cleaning

We understand that accidents can happen. In the event of any damage or additional extra cleaning if required beyond the normal wear & tear or use during your stay with us, an additional charge may be incurred.

Risk Disclosure Statement

We are committed to ensuring your safety and well-being during your stay with us. However, like any establishment, there are inherent risks associated with travel and accommodation. Please carefully read and acknowledge the following risk disclosure statement before proceeding with your reservation:

 Property Risks: While we take extensive measures to maintain our property, accidents or unforeseen incidents may occur. These could include slip and fall accidents, property damage, or malfunctioning equipment. Guests are advised to exercise caution and adhere to all verbal and written safety guidelines within the premises.

 Natural Disasters and Weather conditions: Natural disasters, such as earthquakes, storms, floods, or volcanic activity can occur unexpectedly. While our building is designed to withstand such events, there is always an element of risk. Guests are encouraged to familiarise themselves with emergency exits and evacuation procedures. These are also reinforced and explained verbally on arrival.

 Fire Safety: We have fire safety protocols in place, including  smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. However, fires can still pose a risk. Guests should exercise caution when using heating appliances or smoke in designated areas only. Candles are not permitted in the guest rooms

 Recreational Activities and Amenities: Participation in recreational activities or the use of our amenities, inparticular our beachfront location and our track to the beach carry inherent risks.  Please be aware the track to the beach can be super slippery and there are tree roots in certain areas and steps.  Due care should be taken at all times.  Once on the beach guests must be vigilent in relation to the waves as they can come in strong and fast.  Never turn your back to the water.

 Medical emergencies: In the event of a medical emergency, we will assist in summoning emergency assistance and providing first aid where we can. In an emergency call 111. Our location is 1367 Coast Road Nine Mile Creek, Runanga.  We are 14kms north of Greymouth on State Highway 6. An AED is located in Barrytown and in Runanga.

 Security and Personal Belongings: We provide security measures to safeguard your belongings, but we are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal items. We have a security light in the driveway and driveway alarms, together with the gate which we will shut on occassion if necessary. We have a small safe available for guest use if you wish to have your passports etc locked away.  Please ask your hosts.

Risk Disclosure Statement Tour Offerings with Breakers Boutique Accommodation

At Breakers Boutique Accommodation we are committed to delivering a safe and enjoyable experience. We take all care to ensure your safety, however, there are inherent risks in the nature of our activity offerings. To ensure your safety guests must follow the instructions of our team at all times, be physically capable of undertaking the activity, and not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Risks may include but are not limited to slips, falls, drowning, collisions, which may results in serious injury or death.

We are also committed to transporting all of our guests safely to their destination for our photography and history tours and in conjunction with our partner Operator Wilderness Sports & Cycles for our Explore by Bike tour. While we take all care, there are inherent risks on the road which can result in serious injury or death. To ensure your safety we have strict protocols which require your cooperation. These include ensuring seat belts are worn at all times, refrain from moving about the moving vehicle, not distracting the driver, and not being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. All care must be taken if having to cross the road at any stage, looking both directions for oncoming traffic. Pedestrians DO NOT have right of way in New Zealand.

Breakers Boutique Accommodation strongly recommends guests participating in our tour activities have full travel insurance, covering any personal injury and loss or damage to property that they might suffer including medical treatment cover.
