Private Track for Beach Access
Breakers has its own private track to the beach and this is located in the gardens - just outside your room. Within 2 minutes you can be enjoying one of the West Coast's more secluded beaches including a waterfall and rocky outcrop with starfish and mussels.
Set on almost 2 acres of native bush and landscaped gardens with an abundance of native flora and fauna, Breakers has been designed to maximise the wonderful beachfront location and outstanding sea views.
Boutique Accommodation
We have four guest rooms at Breakers, and they each have either balcony or deck access with views out to the Tasman sea. Seating is provided outside your rooms and garden chairs are located around the grounds, so you can capture a sunrise or a sunset, depending on the time of the day, from almost anywhere on the property.
Close to all Activities
Breakers is ideally located to base yourself while you explore the Grey District and the rest of the West Coast. Close to all activities - Paparoa National Park, Arthur's Pass the alpine village and skiing, Lake Moana for fishing and boating, hiking (known in NZ as tramping), mountain biking, fishing, surfing, kayaking, the list goes on...... The West Coast has a colourful gold and coal mining history with a number of easily accessible historic trails to explore and relics to view. Jan is more than happy to help you with sightseeing suggestions and your activity planning.
Easy Location
Breakers boutique accommodation is easy to find and is located 15 minutes north of Greymouth on State Highway 6, known as the Punakaiki coastline and voted one of the top ten coastal drives in the world by Lonely Planet. Punakaiki and the Pancake Rocks are a 30 minute drive to the north of Breakers, with the glacier region a 3 hour drive to the south.
