An ideal overnight trip
Breakers offer an excellent overnight option for those travellers wishing to explore the West Coast but who are on a limited time frame.
A boutique bed & breakfast set overlooking the Tasman Sea, Breakers is a great place to spend a night. Sit back, relax and enjoy the views, take a walk on the beach with private track for beach access or take a drive and explore a couple of the local walks.
Guests can travel from Christchurch to Greymouth via the Tranz Alpine railway, hire a rental car for one day (we recommend Apex Rental Cars)and visit the world famous “Pancake Rocks” at Punakaiki. Guests then overnight at Breakers, enjoy a morning on the beach or a valley walk before heading back to the railway station for the train back to Christchurch.
For dining options, Breakers can offer a 3 course dinner including wine (with 48 hours prior notice) or guests can order from the guest room menu – antipasto platters, cheeseboards, pizza, nachos, lasagna & salad or fisherman's basket with salad. Local beer, wine and soft drinks are also available. Alternatively Greymouth is a 10minute drive for restaurants and cafes.
