Proudly supporting the environment and promoting environmental sustainability in New Zealand and the tourism industry



In May 2008 Qualmark introduced a new environmental criteria to it's quality assurance star rating for the tourism industry.  Each business belonging to Qualmark now has minimum requirements it must meet for environmental sustainability under the existing rating scheme.  The Tourism Minister was in full favour of this new criteria and published a media release in late May.

For those businesses exceeding the minimum requirements Qualmark introduced new Green logos.  After initial assessment in December 2008 and subsequent submission of our application, Breakers is proud to achieve the Qualmark Green Enviro-Silver rating.

This rating shows our committment to the environment.  We have policies and procedures for waste management, energy efficiencies and general sustainability in our business.  You can click here to read Breakers environmental policy.
